Indian Knowledge System
Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) is an innovative cell under Ministry of Education (MoE) at AICTE, New Delhi. It is established to promote interdisciplinary research on all aspects of IKS, preserve and disseminate IKS for further research and societal applications. It will actively engage in spreading the rich heritage of our country and traditional knowledge in the field of Arts and literature, Agriculture, Basic Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Architecture, Management, Economics, etc.

Remarkably, Abhinavagupta Institute of Advanced Studies has been bestowed with the prestigious designation of an IKS Research Centre
(F.No.2-48/IKS Research Center/2023-24/165). This illustrious recognition serves as a testament to the institute's steadfast commitment to the advancement and preservation of ancient Indian knowledge systems.
Functions of IKS division
Inter-disciplines facilities
Facilitate and coordinate IKS based/related inter and trans-disciplinary work done by various institutions in India and abroad including universities, institutions of national importance, R&D laboratories and different ministries and inspire private sector organisations to engage with it.
Guidance
Establish, guide, and monitor subject-wise interdisciplinary research groups comprising researchers from institutes, centers, and individuals.
Funding facilities
Facilitate funding of various projects and develop mechanisms to undertake research.
Policy recommendations
Make Policy recommendations wherever required for the promotion of IKS. And create and promote popularisation schemes.
